The film follows an ambitious chef (DeBose) who opens her first restaurant — a farm-to-table affair on a remote estate — where she battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor and crushing self doubt. But the pressure heats up thanks to the powerful spirit of the estate’s previous owner who threatens to sabotage her at every turn. Described as a “tense, psychological and sensuous thriller that will leave hearts pounding and mouths watering,” the film is set to start production this fall and will premiere on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Ariana DeBose to Star in Thriller ‘House of Spoils’ for Prime Video, Blumhouse
Oscar winner Ariana DeBose is to star in the psychological thriller House of Spoils for Prime Video and Blumhouse. Whatever the case, it seems its directors are angling for a curveball here, which makes it harder to nail down exactly what type of genre movie we're getting, in a good way. Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai produced by Rajan Shahi has been a long-running show which was started with actors Karan Mehra and Hina Khan as leads. The first generation leap in the story introduced Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi, who became stupendously popular for their lead roles of Kartik and Naira.

Apart from DeBose, the only other major star to join the cast of "House of Spoils" is Barbie Ferreira, who boarded the thriller series fresh off of parting ways with her breakout role in "Euphoria." Variety reports that Ferreira is playing a "sous chef who works with Debose's character." According to The Hollywood Reporter, "House of Spoils" will feature Ariana DeBose as "an ambitious chef who opens her first restaurant, a farm-to-table affair on a remote estate. Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy will direct the Oscar-winning 'West Side Story' star as a chef opening her first restaurant on a remote estate. His push to purchase a constituent management software system was jettisoned by a House committee after members suggested Plocher was trying to use political connections to help a company win a state contract rather than going through the normal bidding process. Blumhouse chief Jason Blum is producing the film with Alex Scharfman, Lucas Joaquin and Drew Houpt of Secret Engine, as well as Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath for Divide/Conquer. Executive producers include Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold for Blumhouse Television.

Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose, who delivered a star-making performance as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” has nabbed her next leading role — and it’s a far-cry from the musical fare audiences have become accustomed to. In addition to her Oscar, DeBose earned a BAFTA, Critics Choice and SAG Award for her star turn as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. She will next star in Sony Pictures’ Kraven the Hunter, set for a Jan. 13, 2023 release, and Matthew Vaughn’s action film Argylle for Apple. As time has ticked down on the session, Kelly has been under pressure to bring the committee to a resolution that either clears Plocher or asks the full House to impose sanctions against him. Jason Blum is producing for Blumhouse; Alex Scharfman, Lucas Joaquin, and Drew Houpt are on board for Secret Engine; with Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath for Divide/Conquer. Christopher Abbott (Possessor) is playing The Foreigner, with Levi Miller (Better Watch Out) also on board.

Even today, when Mohsin and Shivangi are not part of the show, the cult show remains one of their biggest experiences. Their exit from the show created a furore among the Mohsin and Shivangi fans. But hats off to the makers, as they came back with a bang and delivered yet again with yet another generation leap story. We had Harshad Chopda, and Pranali Rathod playing the leads of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Later, the show introduced the fourth-generation leads with Shehzada Dhami and Samridhii Shukla. However, both Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honkar were replaced owing to issues of tantrums and taking their places in the show, are Rohit Purohit and Garvita Sadhwani.
Executive producers are Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold for Blumhouse Television. Producers on House of Spoils are Jason Blum for Blumhouse; Alex Scharfman, Lucas Joaquin, and Drew Houpt for Secret Engine; and Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath for Divide/Conquer. It sounds like the cast will be pretty small for this one (which would be more or less in keeping with Blumhouse's low-budget model).
Alessandro Nivola (The Many Saints of Newark) will play another villain, but character details are under wraps. Ferreira became a Gen Z bold-faced name thanks to playing high schooler Kat Hernandez on HBO’s acclaimed and envelope-pushing drama Euphoria for two seasons. She announced on Instagram last week that she was “having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye” to the character and would not be returning for a third season. On-set tension with show creator Sam Levinson was rumored to be behind the development. Ferreira’s character is described as a hopeful but sharp-tongued sous chef, but how she figures into the plot is being kept under the cloche. Producers on the project are Jason Blum for Blumhouse; Alex Scharfman, Lucas Joaquin, and Drew Houpt for Secret Engine; and Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath for Divide/Conquer; with McCumber and Jeremy Gold executive producing on behalf of Blumhouse Television.
